A ministerial resolution issued today by Dr Rashid Ahmad Bin Fahd, Minister of Environment and Water, said the move on lifting the ban was motivated by a report received from the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) saying that no new cases of avian flu have been reported in the two German states.

A memorandum by the UAE National Committee for Avian Influenza Emergency Response has also given its nod for allowing the German bird import into the UAE market again. The ministerial resolution stipulated that all inbound shipments will be subjected to working vet quarantine regulations and laws.
