Abu Dhabi -- Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, yesterday attended a reception hosted by Philip Parham, Ambassador of the United Kingdom, on the occasion of the birthday of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.

The ceremony was also attended by a number of officials and heads of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions accredited to the state together with a number of British businessmen and members of the British community living in the country.

In his speech on this occasion, the British Ambassador commended the close ties between the two countries, which were established by the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and continued under the wise leadership of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
