Dubai: On the occasion of the UAE’s 43rd National Day, the British embassy in Dubai will be releasing a video on its social media platforms showing the ambassador’s congratulatory message.
This will be followed by two other messages from the embassy staff -- in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi -- wishing the UAE a happy national day. UK ambassador to the UAE Philip Parham said: “The UAE’s National Day is celebrated not only by Emiratis but also by the different communities, including the British, who enjoy the diversity, the openness, the excitement and the business opportunities which this country offers.
The UK and the UAE enjoy a long history of cooperation, friendship and open dialogue. Our governments work together on a wide range of shared interests including trade and investment, regional and global security challenges, international development and cultural exchange. But most important are our people’s ties to each other’s countries. More than 120,000 British nationals live and work in the UAE, and each year around a million Britons visit the UAE, while the UK welcomes thousands of Emiratis who consider it their second home.
On behalf of the British government and the British community in the UAE, I am delighted to wish the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Their Highnesses the members of the Supreme Council, and the people of the UAE congratulations on their 43rd National Day.”
