Dr Mohammed Mahmoud Al Kamali, Director-General of the Judicial Institute, said: "There were many international conventions banning Western countries from offending religions. Even the Danish law itself incriminates insult against religions."
''The Danish attorney-general had made a mistake when he shelved the case filed by the Danish Muslims against the newspaper which published the blasphemous drawings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)," he said, adding that he committed a legal fault when he decided that what the newspaper published did not anger Muslims and that the matter did not concern them much.
The event was organised by the Judicial Institute in the capital and attended by Justice Minister Mohammed bin Nakhira Al Dhaheri and a host of international experts.
