The full-time, permanent and dedicated team will be responsible for developing the hospital’s new Heart Centre meeting the standards of the world’s most advanced healthcare market.

The heart team consists of Dr Emad Dodin, a Jordanian-American and eminent interventional cardiologist, who has been appointed Director of the Cath Lab, as well as Dr Fouad M. Azoury, a Lebanese national and well-known heart surgeon, who has been appointed Chairman of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the hospital.

Both the mentioned physicians studied, trained and practiced in the United States.

Dr Dodin has performed interventional procedures, including complex and high risk cases, utilising his skills in caring for complex and very sick heart failure patients and developing significant experience in treating these patients both in intensive care units (ICU) and outpatient situations.

Dr Azoury’s special interest is in minimally invasive cardiac surgery, valve repair rather than replacement and in particular beating heart coronary artery revascularisation. He has completed over 500 beating heart bypass procedures.

These physicians will join Dr Khaldoun Taha, cardiologist, who has been practicing at the hospital for several years.

Dr Taha is also US Board Certified and trained at the Cook County Hospital, Chicago and the University of Missouri.
