She defies age as she keys in words on the typewriter with her nimble fingers at an incredibly swift pace. But it not just her phenomenal speed that one needs to emulate, but her steely spirit too. The remarkable zest that she brings to her job would put many a youth to shame.
Lakshmi Bai, who is 72 years old, ekes out a living by typing documents on a typewriter in front of the District Collectorate in Madhya Pradesh's Sehore, reported NDTV. "I do it to repay loans I took after my daughter met with an accident"," she told news agency ANI. "I can't beg."
She became a sensation on social media after her video became viral and grabbed attention and appreciation of former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag, who dubbed her as a "superwoman".
On June 12, the cricketer shared the video of the woman at work on Twitter, exhorting the youth to take inspiration from her.
A superwoman for me. She lives in Sehore in MP and the youth have so much to learn from her. Not just speed, but the spirit and a lesson that no work is small and no age is big enough to learn and work. Pranam ! pic.twitter.com/n63IcpBRSH"A superwoman for me.
