A drive by the seaside turned disastrous for a car driver who drove too close to the sea waters causing the vehicle to get nearly washed away into the sea in Maharashtra's Palghar district.
A video of the incident shows the white car swaying in water as strong waves lash it during high tide. According to the reports in NDTV, police said a group of people had come to the beach and drove the car right up to the seashore causing its tyres to get stuck in the sand.
The footage shows an occupant of the car opening the door and running out to safety after the vehicle gets nearly submerged. Soon, another man is seen running towards the car in a bid to pull it out from the sand but gives up the idea after waves turn violent.
The car was fished out with the help of a tractor from a nearby village. Although it is yet not clear how many people were inside the car, it was reported that no one was injured in the incident. Palghar is located about 87 kilometers north of Mumbai where monsoon is expected to reach hit this week. A cyclone is also likely to develop in the Arabian Sea, some 300 kilometres off India's west coast during this period.
