A fire broke out in Sharjah's Sahara Centre on Friday night.
Sharjah Civil Defense immediately reached the site of the fire and quickly contained it, preventing it from spreading through the mall and causing any further damage.
According to initial details, the entire operation took 30 minutes, including arriving at the site within two minutes, dousing the fire in 10 minutes followed by a 20-minute cooling operation.
All shops were closed due to the thick smoke billowing from the blaze.
Lieutenant-Colonel Sami Al Naqbi, Director of Sharjah Civil Defence said that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit in one of the suction fans in a restaurant inside the mall.

Al Naqbi described the fire as minor.
