'Disgustingly barbaric' would be an understatement to describe a footage that has emerged of a headmaster in an Indian school beating students with a cane till it breaks. The shocking clip shows the helpless students yelping in pain as they are violently and relentlessly caned on the hands, fingers and everywhere. Some of students reportedly fall unconscious after the headmaster strikes them for the "slightest of mistakes". A mother of one of the victims lodged a complaint against the school but was forced to withdraw it after 'pressure' from local authorities, the police and the school, MailOnline reports. The video has gone viral and drawn widespread flak. It was posted by another teacher of the same convent school in Fafamau city near Allahabad, in east India. Ashish Mani Tiwari, the school's PE teacher who captured the video, has been quoted as saying in the report that he was "shocked" at how cruelly the students were treated. He added that the students "were regularly beaten on the pretext of instilling discipline in them".
Tiwari has been fired by the school, but pledges to bring justice to the students.
