A stunning sight greeted visitors to Abu Dhabi Corniche on Saturday.
The world record for the largest umbrella in the world was broken with representatives from the Guinness Book of World Records witnessing the event organized by Aqdar.
The Ministry of Interior posted the record-breaking moment on their twitter handle accompanied by a video of the event.

The Khalifa Empowerment Program for Students had organised the event on Saturday morning. 
The umbrella has a diameter of 24.45 meters, breaking the previous record recorded in China held by an umbrella around 22.90 meters.
The record breaking umbrella was opened by Major General Dr Ahmed Nasser Al-Rissi in the presence of Guinness representative and partners accompanied by the Police Music Band.
