Sharjah Police on Wednesday reminded motorists that fines for impounded vehicles as well as those that have traffic points have to be paid in person at a police centre if the motorist wants to avail of the 50 per cent discount.
According to Arabic daily Al Ittihad, motorists will not receive the discount if they pay for the above mentioned fines via websites or the other payment methods.
The police responded to questions submitted by many motorists, the report said, explaining that fines with traffic points, or those that result in the vehicle being impounded -- there are 58 such types of fines -- must be paid at a police centre.
Additionally, the police urged all motorists who committed traffic violations to pay for the fines and benefit from the discount, which is valid until the end of January 2020.
