None of the money exchanges are accepting the demonetised Indian currency notes of Rs500 and Rs1,000 denomination. A top official from the company has called the WhatsApp audio message about UAE Exchange accepting the demonetised currency notes as false.
Promoth Manghat, CEO, UAE Exchange, said: "As of today, all UAE Exchange branches worldwide will not accept the demonetised currency notes of Rs500 and Rs1,000 until further notice.
"We are receiving a lot of calls seeking service assistance to exchange these notes. We would like to reassure you that we are closely monitoring the situation and are standing by to make necessary arrangements as and when notified by the Reserve Bank of India and/or Government of India for handling such notes outside India."
