UMM AL QUWAIN — A water heater exploded in the house of UAE national in Al Lezeima area on Wednesday, damaging parts of the house.

No one was injured as the family members were out at the time, police sources said.

Lieutenant-Colonel Hassan Ali bin Sarm, Head of the Civil Defence Stations in Umm Al Quwain, said firefighters rushed to the house and contained the damage.

The cause of the explosion was a malfunction in the circuit breaker of the heater that works when water reaches the boiling temperature.
