When students voiced rights of refugees

Dubai - The event saw the participation of eight schools in the three different competitions.

As part of its Generation Global initiative, GEMS Our Own High School Al Warqa'a organised an interschool competition, promoting awareness on universal human rights.
The theme for the third annual competition called Liviorights-2017, was 'Rights of Refugees' and the motto was 'Fighting Injustice -The Our Own Way'.
The event saw the participation of eight schools in the three different competitions. The Discussion Forum had speakers from various schools speaking and sharing thoughts on the topic 'No Human Beings Are Illegal'.
Artistically inclined participants expressed their imagination through strokes and colours on the walls in the Graffiti competition on the theme 'Refugees are not pawns in the chess boards of humanity'. The entries for the filmmaking competition was based on the topic 'Social Inclusion of Refugees'.
It was a proud moment for the GEMS Winchester School as they bagged individual prizes in two events and clinched the overall championship.
