The project won by Alpha data was based on Nortel network’s latest secured WLAN Solution. Alpha Data and UAE University engineers teamed up to implement the solution, which spreads over multiple building covering a large area in the Maqam campus.

The deployment provides connectivity throughout the Maqam campus where students can access the Internet free of charge using their wireless-enabled laptops, as well as access the most sophisticated multimedia content.

“A wireless network ensures greater student and faculty productivity by delivering more flexible access to a variety of data centre applications,” said Mohammad Javeed, ITC Director, UAE University.

“We appreciate the dedication and professionalism of Alpha data’s team which has been involved with us from the assessment and design to the integration phase of the project,” he added.
