The plea would brand the planemaker a convicted felon, and the company would also pay a criminal fine of $243.6 million
Ravinder, Satpal and Bala Devi were arrested for killing 33-year-old Surender Rana here on Jharsa road in broad daylight on July 28, the city police said.
While Ravinder and Satpal hail from Jhajjar district of Haryana, Bala is a resident of Gurugram's Sector 17.
"Money dispute was the reason behind the killing but it was not a planned murder," Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) Sumit Kuhar told reporters.
"Rana refused to distribute cash among accused after a plot deal matured a few month back. The three were on their way in a Santro car for some work and spotted Rana sitting inside his Tata SUV. After a heated argument, Rana was shot five times with his own licensed pistol," the officer said.
"Rana was associated with a local television news channel in the past for a short period before his services were terminated. He allegedly threatened the three of dire consequences with the support of his news channel. The three initially got scared as they were not aware that Rana was no longer working with channel," said another officer.
Rana, a resident of Gurugram's Shanti Nagar, died on the spot.
