An Al Ain husband divorced his wife because the woman had plastic surgery on her deformed face to look more beautiful without his consent, a court has heard.
The Arab woman had allegedly undergone plastic surgery at one of the hospitals in Al Ain that included fixing the deformed parts of her face and removing wrinkles, when her husband was away on a two-month trip.
The woman allegedly wanted to surprise the man with her 'new and improved' looks when he returned from his long trip, but instead, the man was annoyed as he believed in natural beauty and 'hated' plastic surgeries.
It is not clear what had caused the defects on the woman's face.
Official court documents stated that when the man returned home and noticed that his wife had gone under the knife without his consent, he was so angry because the surgery made her look like a different person.
The woman tried to reason with her husband that she had the 'important' surgery on the doctor's recommendation, and that he should forgive her for not informing him about this - but her efforts to convince him were in vain.
The man then applied for divorce at the Al Ain Family Court, which was granted after reconciliation efforts failed.
