ABU DHABI — Sawaeed, the semi-government manpower company based in the capital, is all set to start work to build a new workers’ city in Mussafah area in Abu Dhabi, Khaleej Times has learnt.
The city will be built in an area of 165,000 sq feet, an informed source at the Ministry of Labour (MoL) said.
The new workers’ city will have the capacity to house nearly 20,000 workers, including supervisors, technicians and work site observers.
Dr Emad Mohammad, director of Sawaeed, said the new workers city would provide suitable living and housing conditions for workers. It will provide various facilities, including recreation and sports centres, shops, gardens, restaurants, playgrounds, and a medical centre.
It may be noted that the company has already completed the first workers’ city, also located in Mussafah area, which houses more than 10,000 workers.
