World's biggest mosaic portrait

AL AIN - Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Education and UAE University Chancellor, unveiled on Tuesday a portrait of the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the biggest in the world put together by the university's students using 7,683,447 mosaic pieces.

The unveiling ceremony was part of the 20th celebration of university activities and Scientific Associations' Day which is an annual feature in the UAEU women campus.

Dr Hadef bin Joan Al Dhahry, UAEU Vice-Chancellor, also inaugurated the University Technology Exhibition - UTEX-2005, a trade event which enables companies to showcase a wide array of new and innovative IT products and services.

Leading IT companies displayed their state-of-the-art services and products in the exhibition, providing them an opportunity to expand their businesses in new markets.

Other activities include traditional dresses which reflect different cultures of GCC, Arab, regional and other countries outside the region, besides an art exhibition providing students to show off their creativity.`
