Zayed attends son's wedding ceremony

The President, His Highness Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, attended in Al Ain yesterday evening ceremonies marking the marriage of his son Shaikh Ahmed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and Industry and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Foundation, to daughter of Major-General Hamad bin Suhail al Khaili, Senior Aide d'Camp of the President.

Earlier in the day, Shaikh Zayed hosted a banquet at Al Ain's Asharej area to mark the wedding. The banquet was attended by Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of emirates Shaikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi of Sharjah, Shaikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi of Ras Al Khaimah, Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi of Fujairah, Shaikh Rashid bin Ahmed Al Mualla of Umm Al f-b f-iQuwain, and Shaikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi of Ajman. Also present were Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; Gen. Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defence Minister; Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah; Shaikh Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah; Shaikh Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, Deputy Ruler of Fujairah; Shaikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister; Saeed Mohammed Al Kindi, Speaker of the Federal National Council; Lt.-Gen. Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces; Shaikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in Abu Dhabi's Eastern Region and Deputy Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Shaikh Zayed's sons; other Shaikhs; ministers and members of the diplomatic corps.

The evening ceremonies were attended by His Highness Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, Shaikh Sultan bin Zayed, Shaikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed, Major-General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Interior Ministry's Under-Secretary, other Shaikhs, senior citizens and other UAE nationals. National troupes performed folk dances and sang songs on the occasion.
