ABU DHABI — Kuwaiti artist Nada Marafie won bronze medal in the 7th Arab European Photo Festival held recently in the German city of Hamburg.
The young artist won the award for a picture of Abu Dhabi’s Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which showed the beauty of its architecture. The mosque is among the largest in the world and photographers were invited to capture its exceptional design and domes.
Among these initiatives is the “Spaces of Light” photography competition organised by the Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, whose results will be announced in the early days of 2011.
The Arab European Photo Festival witnessed the participation of 291 artists from 39 countries taking part with 8,732 photographic works. —
