Dubai - Emirates airline made history today as its one-off Year of Tolerance flight EK 2019 took to the skies with 500 people from around 150 nationalities - all dressed in their traditional attire.

The minimum requirement for the record was 75 nationalities, and Emirates flight EK2019 set a new Guinness World record on Friday by having people from 145 nationalities on board the special flight.

The A380 commissioned for this flight has been decorated with a colourful and bespoke ‘Year of Tolerance’ livery, showcasing a panorama of people from diverse backgrounds and cultures holding hands, celebrating the UAE’s message of multiculturalism. The illustrations adorn both sides of the aircraft.
