The contract sets the framework for business collaboration between both parties on the arena of aero-structures manufacturing and subassemblies.
The delivery of the first ship-set to the Dassault Aviation assembly line is planned for mid 2012. This contract will involve the most recent equipment and software acquired by TPI for the Aerospace business such as the latest 5-Axis high-speed cutting machines (up to 30 000 RPM) with up to five metres.
The agreement was signed at Tawazun Pavilion during the Dubai International Airshow 2011 Exhibition by Mutasim Awda CEO of Tawazun Precision Industries, and Didie Bonnefoy, senior vice-president of Dassault’s Aviation.
The signing ceremony was also attended by Hamad Al Neyadi, chief strategy officer in the Tawazun Holding, and Eric Trapier Director General of Dassault Aviation and a number of officials from the two sides.
This contract reflects the competitiveness and the high level of skill already achieved by TPI being in the Aerospace business over this past year.
TPI, which was incorporated in 2007, is the Tawazun’s subsidiary dedicated to high precision machining.
It is specialised in the manufacture of metallic components for aerospace/aviation, defence, and oil and gas industries.
TPI entered the Aerospace market last year as part of its development and diversification vision.
With the support of different European and American partners, TPI has already acquired Aerospace world class capabilities including manufacturing engineering, supply-chain management, and various production capabilities for complex metallic parts for aircraft.
The contract, acquired by TPI on a competitive basis is yet another proof that TPI is now recognised as a reliable world class Aerospace supplier, able to provide real value and a competitive edge to global aerospace customers.
