Central bank’s assets grew 5.4% in May

“Loans and advances of the central bank surged 490.2 per cent to Dh3.01 billion in the same month from Dh500 million in the same month last year,” according to balance sheet of the central bank published on its website.

Cash and bank balances dropped 58.5 per cent year-on-year basis to Dh6.05 billion in May from Dh18.53 billion in same month last year. However, deposits showed 5.2 per cent improvement to Dh105.09 billion while held–to-maturity investments grew 12.7 per cent to Dh207.01 billion. Other assets dropped 83 per cent to Dh1.21 billion.
