Dangal becomes highest grossing Hindi film ever

After crossing the box office collection of Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan over the weekend, Aamir Khan broke his own record by surpassing the earnings of his earlier release PK today.  
The dangal is finally over! Reports suggest that the lifetime collection of PK was Rs340.8 crore and today the domestic box office collection of Dangal reached Rs341.96 crore, making it the most successful Hindi film ever.
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh listed the top 5 highest grossing Hindi films on his Twitter handle. Dangal tops the list, followed by PK, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sultan and Dhoom 3. Dangal breaks the records of three Salman Khan films released over the past years to attain the numero uno position.
Not a fan of awards, Aamir Khan had earlier being quoted saying that he is not interested in box office numbers. "I am not thinking about the numbers, I am concerned about the audience's reaction. I don't have the interest in numbers. I just want the film to touch the hearts of the audience," he had told IANS. We wonder if he shares the same sentiment now.
Based on the real life of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and his daughters Geeta and Babita Kumari, Dangal was well-received by both critics and audience.
