PRIYANKA CHOPRA IS the first Indian actor ever to be picked as a presenter at the Oscars. After winning the People's Choices Award and presenting awards for the Screen Actors Guild, Hollywood is Priyanka's second home these days. She is cementing her status in Hollywood with popular tv series Quantico and her big project Baywatch with Dwayne Johnson. Currently, Priyanka is in Los Angeles where she will present an award with her fellow stars including Quincy Jones, Kerry Washington, Byung- hun Lee, Reese Witherspoon, Whoopi Goldberg, Tina Fey and Julianne Moore among others at the Oscars. She shared a picture from inside the Dolby Theatre in which she is seen practicing on stage along with the Oscars production team.
"I dream in gold. #Oscars rehearsals," she posted on Instagram along with her photo. Priyanka spoke in detail about diversity at the Oscars and her favourite nominated films
Diversity at the Oscars
The Academy is making an effort to encourage more diversity at the awards after they were hit with accusations of racism. Priyanka said that its a sign of good things to come. "I do not think it's a start but I don't think it's the end of the debate for sure. It's a really big conversation that needs to be had because diversity is very important for entertainment. Today global entertainment has become such a small space, people come from different parts of the world and they are a part of a global entertainment and their representation should mean that. I am glad that I am a step in that direction."
Lady in White?
Quiz her on what she will wear for her big Oscar night, Priyanka reveals, "When I wake up tomorrow morning, which will be after some four hours of sleep, I'll see what I am feeling but I am gearing towards white as of now."
Curious if Leo will win
"I saw many films from the nominations but Spotlight is my favourite. I really want to see if Leonardo DiCaprio wins his first Oscar this year. I want to see which one wins the best film. It will be a fun evening."
