Khaleej Times lists 5 flop films of Shah Rukh Khan:
1. Fan
Release date - April 2016
His 2016 release Fan was a big gamble, considering he had been playing safe with films like Dilwale, Happy New Year, Chennai Express, Jab Tak Hai Jaan before the film.
The badshah played the duo role of Superstar (Aryan) and his obsessed fan (Gaurav) in Maneesh Sharma's Fan but it failed to click at the box office. The film struggled to enter the 100 crore club.
2. Billu Barber
Release date - Feb 2009
Produced by Shahrukh Khan's home banner and featuring SRK himself, Irfan Khan starrer Billu Barber was a simple film but didn't coax viewers to head to cinema halls. The film was made on a lean budget of 18 crores and was reportedly sold for a figure of 50 crores to Eros International. But it failed to get numbers at the box office.
3. Paheli
Release date - June 2005
Not many know but Paheli was India's official entry for the Oscars. This 2005 Shah Rukh Khan-starrer received mixed to positive response from the critics but didn't work magic at the box office.
Starring Rani Mukherjee, Paheli was a story of a ghost who falls in love with a newly-wed womani. The ghost then takes on the guise of her husband and follows her.
4. Yeh Lamhe Judaai Ke
Release date -April 2004
2004 was one of the biggest years for Shah Rukh Khan. He had three big ticket film releases - Main Hoon Na, Veer Zaara and Swades. Banking on this fortune, a lesser known, back-in-the-burner film Yeh Lamhe Judaai Ke was released in the same year. Starring Raveena Tandon, we are sure SRK didn't want this film to release. It was a major flop and not many people remember it's release.
5. Asoka
Release date - October 2001
Made on a grand budget, this larger than life film produced by Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla got a lukewarm response on the box office. It managed to collect US$4.4 million worldwide and was received critically.
