45 Indian firms display IT products, services at Gitex

The Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) is ensuring Indian participation in a big way at Gitex Dubai 2015, said Kamal Vachani, regional director, Middle East.
"The ESC has been facilitating Indian participation on a regular basis at Gitex to take advantage of the booming IT market in the Gulf. We get businesses for Indian IT companies from large global corporations which are executing projects in the region," Vachaniadded.
Gitex has emerged as the largest ICT event in the Middle East. India has a great stake in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and European markets, for which Dubai acts as a gateway. The event provides participating Indian ICT companies with opportunities in the Middle East.
D.K. Sareen, executive director of ESC, said Indian companies participating under ESC's banner at Gitex have bagged business contracts, forged joint ventures, marketing tie-ups, etc., with exhibition visitors.
Forty-eight Indian ICT companies are exhibiting at the India pavilion organised by ESC at Gitex this year. The India pavilion was inaugurated by Anurag Bhushan, Consul-General of India in Dubai and Northern Emirates, and Dr Juma Almatrooshi, senior executive vice-president - commercial, Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority.
India pavilion will highlight ICT products and services, including cyber security colutions, tablets, portable PCs, IT accessories, software products on e-commerce, time and attendance, visitor management, e-learning systems, survey builder, quality management solutions, etc.
Saumen Chakraborty, chairman of ESC, said it is estimated that exports of electronics goods to countries in the Middle East during 2014-'15 is valued at $1 billion. Among countries in the Middle East, the UAE is the top destination for India's electronics exports, followed by Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
