AMMAN — Agility, the leading global logistics provider, has stepped up its operations in Jordan's capital, Amman, with a new warehouse in the Queen Alia International Airport Free Zone.
The 1,000 square metre facility — Queen Alia Airfreight Logistics Centre, will benefit companies who are looking to penetrate the Jordan market but do not have offices in the country.
Agility recently announced plans to expand its logistics operations across Jordan, and is working on a number of large-scale projects which include Aqaba Logistics Village and the King Hussein International Airport/Cargo Terminal in Aqaba. With a capacity of up to 600 pallet positions the new facility is also a significant step in Agility's efforts to serve a variety of their air freight customers in the kingdom.
"Elias Monem, Agility CEO, Middle East and Africa, said, "This new facility opens up an entirely new avenue of trade to companies who want to reach global consumers while keeping their overheads low."
The new Free Zone warehouse, Monem added, uses state-of-the-art Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) technology to link up with Agility's larger Aqaba facility, and strong emphasis will be placed on fast and efficient transfer of ownership to customers, along with clearance and distribution. Agility, which operates more than 450 offices in over 100 countries, has already invested heavily into developing its infrastructure in the Kingdom.
