Commencing from June 2nd next year connecting for the first time the UAE Capital with one of the major gateways and financial centres of the Asia Pacific region.
The Hong Kong based carrier will connect Abu Dhabi International Airport with Hong Kong International Airport with four flights per week and will also provide seamless connectivity to all major countries and territories in the Far East and Southwest Pacific regions. The route will be served by an Airbus A330-300 configured with business and economy classes.
The route is expected to cater to both tourism and business travellers, giving the most direct access to the dynamic markets of Hong Kong and the Great Pearl River Delta.
Chairman of Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) Khalifa Al Mazrouei, said: “We are delighted to welcome Cathay Pacific to Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates; it is a clear indication of Abu Dhabi’s growing market strength in attracting new partners. This announcement comes as a result of Abu Dhabi Airports Company aggressive route development strategy and the close cooperation with Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority in demonstrating the benefits to the Cathay Pacific from the major economic and tourism transformation underway in Abu Dhabi.
