Peter Cowen, who currently coaches some of the best golfers in the world, was recently presented with the award for ‘UK Coach of the Year’ at the 2010 UK Coaching Awards in London. Cowen is credited with helping Lee Westwood to become the number one golfer in the world in 2010.

In addition to guiding Westwood to success, he has also coached a number of the world’s top ranked golfers and is currently working with Race to Dubai runner-up and US Open winner Graham McDowell as well as Open winner Louis Oosthuizen.

The partnership means that Emirates Golf Club are able to utilise Peter’s experience and expertise first hand during his regular visits to the Emirate.

He provides insights and training on the latest techniques and training methods, works with the team on the schedule and structure of lessons being offered and regularly brings his players to use the practice facilities at the club.

On his most recent visit to Dubai during the recent Omega Dubai Desert Classic at Emirates Golf Club, Peter Cowen commented, “Emirates Golf Club is a fantastic venue and I always enjoy the time that I spend here. The academy is a superb facility offering the very best in tuition within the region and I am extremely proud to be associated with the facility and the team here.”

The award winning Golf Academy was originally established in 1988 and currently teaches over 5000 students per year, from beginners to experienced players and from children as young as four-year-olds.
