Damac Towers by Paramount Hotels & Resorts has recently been awarded design certification from EarthCheck, a benchmarking, certification and advisory group for travel and tourism. Few hospitality projects in the Middle East have received this certification.
Ziad El Chaar, managing director, Damac Properties, said: "Achieving the EarthCheck design certification reaffirms that Damac Towers by Paramount Hotels & Resorts adheres to the highest possible science-based standards. The project continues to make progress, with superstructure works 100 per cent completed and facade works 85 per cent completed for all towers. We are on track for completion next year."
"From the design phase, through to construction and after, the property complies with sustainability principles, ensuring safety for residents and tourists and reduced impact on the environment," El Chaar continued.
Stewart Moore, CEO, EarthCheck, said: "This places Damac Properties as a worldwide leader, joining the unique group of asset developers that are certified to the internationally recognised EarthCheck building planning and design standard. Certification against the EarthCheck building planning and design standard is set to bring Damac Towers by Paramount Hotels & Resorts a range of benefits, including recognition, credibility and best practice performance."
He added: "This first EarthCheck certification to be awarded to Damac Properties demonstrates their commitment to reduce environmental impact and sets a standard for others to emulate."
Thomas van Vliet, CEO of Paramount Hotels & Resorts, said: "This certification is testament to the rigorous planning that goes into ensuring improved ecological performance related to climate conditions, energy efficiency and reduced consumption of natural resources, to name a few, that will also translate into reduced operational costs. Sustainability is high on the worldwide agenda of Paramount Hotels & Resorts."
Damac Towers by Paramount Hotels & Resorts is a hotel and residential complex located in the Burj area. This four-tower development comprising 1,200 luxury serviced residences in three towers, will offer luxury living with a Hollywood flavour.
