DED unveils nine new e-services

DUBAI — The Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED) has unveiled nine new e-services on its Web site, www.dubaided.gov.ae. Specially created to boost efficiency of operation and enhance productivity, the new eServices will benefit potential investors seeking information to set up businesses in Dubai, owners of small and medium sized enterprises and public relations officers.

The web services feature descriptive help text, Arabic/English support and a friendly layout and design. Internet users can instantly access the information without having to go through any registration process. "With the launch of the new nine eServices, DED is highlighting its technology-driven initiatives that ensure value-added service to clients and empower Dubai's businesses with e-Commerce capabilities," said Mr Sultan Ali Lootah, Director of the IT Division at DED. "Apart from the directives of the eGovernment of Dubai, DED has always utilised the Internet to serve its customers better, ease business registration procedures and create an investor-friendly environment in Dubai. DED will continue to provide more tech-driven and value-added services to cope with the growth of businesses," said Mr Sultan.

The eServices offered by DED include Transaction Status whereby customers can check the status of the transaction by using a transaction number, licence number or initial approval number. search trade names enables users to reserve trade names or find out if the desired name is already taken.

Company lookup helps to search for existing companies operating in Dubai and gain information on their contact details and business activities. Number of licences per person report is also available whereby the number of licences registered under one person's name can be known.
