Deerfields Mall posts 50% growth in footfall

A shopping mall located in the outskirts of the capital on Abu Dhabi-Dubai highway is proving to be the ideal destination to stop and visit.
Abu Dhabi's newest shopping hub, Deerfields Mall located off the Dubai-Abu Dhabi Highway E-11 is few minutes away from Abu Dhabi Airport, and new residential neighbourhoods of Khalifa City, Al Raha Beach, Hydra Village and Al Reef residential area was developed to cater to the neighbouring communities of Al Bahia and Al Shahama which are home to approximately 80,000 residents.
The mall offers easy access and visibility to 400,000 passing vehicles per week.
The flagship property of venture capital firm Mubarak and Brothers Property and Financial Investments, the mall has made a strong growth of 50 per cent in footfall since 2014, attracting traffic to this shopping destination.
Banu Tas, vice-president, asset management and said: "We built Deerfields Mall with one key vision. We wanted to cater to the community, the daily commuters and provide them with an attractive and convenient mix of retail, F&B, entertainment and other amenities."
She said, "We wanted people to step into the Mall and feel at home. Deerfields Mall is growing and has many exciting new features. All in all, Deerfields Mall is shaping up to be an active destination for everybody to visit and enjoy."
Deerfields Mall is also constantly looking at ways to engage the community with new events which enrich their visitor's experience. Having opened its doors in November 2013, Deerfields Mall aims to have 100 per cent retail occupancy by the end of 2015.
Retail stock reached approximately 2.6 million square meter Gross Leasable Area with the only delivery being Al Shamkha Community Mall adding approximately 43,000 sq m of retail GLA. Approximately 54,000 square meters of retail GLA is expected to enter the market by the end of 2015, largely as non-mall retail within mixed-use developments, says property advisory firm JLL in its second quarter report on Abu Dhabi real estate sector.
Recent highlights at Deerfields include the opening of Faby Land, Cine Royale, and the launch of the first edition of 'Deerfields Art Exhibition'. Cine Royale provides state-of-the-art cinematic technology with a total of 2,000 seats spanning across 76,000 square metres.
Deerfields Art Exhibition, held under the patronage of Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, is currently showcasing talents of over 40 artists from within UAE. The exhibition will be on till May 27 and artists retain 100 per cent of the sales.
