Desert Lotus opens in Abu Dhabi

Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development and Chairman of the Board of the National Council for Tourism and Antiquities, has recently cut the red ribbon to the all-new Thai bistro and sushi restaurant Desert Lotus at the One to One Hotel Abu Dhabi.
The opening ceremony was attended by Warawudh Chuwiruch, Ambassador of Thailand to the UAE, alongside 50 VIP guests, businessmen and officials in the travel and tourism sector, as well as media representatives who enjoyed the ceremony so did the members of the Thai community residing in the UAE.
Shaikh Nahyan was delighted to witness the opening of a luxurious Thai brand in the capital of Abu Dhabi, followed by the creations of a celebrity Thai culinary guru, famed for serving the royal family in Thailand. The guests indulged in the restaurant's signature dishes such as fresh rolls, Pad Thai farm-fresh chicken noodles, veggie table sushi rolls and Massaman lamb curry, along with other delicacies that were not only fresh but enhancing to the aesthetic appeal through its presentation. The family-style service highlighted the traditional values of sharing and caring for each other at the table.
Shaikh Nahyan noted that "UAE citizens are getting familiarised with cuisines from the Far East and are surely eager to try this fancy restaurant".
Desert Lotus owner and chef Buaban Tucker, took a moment to share the pleasure of witnessing her dreams come true: "It is an honour to have the presence of Shaikh Nahyan, the Thai Ambassador and all VIP guests experiencing their support, launching such a restaurant in the magnificent capital Abu Dhabi bringing true fulfillment and fantasy. I promise to serve nothing but fresh Thai Modern food and Sushi delicacies served in a cozy ambience, challenging Desert Lotus to be one of the best dining venues in the Emirates.
The five-star restaurant enjoys an elegant purple and gold theme, highlighting a cultural corner, a soothing purple room and an art corner. Guests can chat over the sushi display counter and bar set up relished in natural light in daytime and dimmed romantic candles or lanterns during the night. Contemporary seating is arranged with a feel of Thai comfort.
Desert Lotus has been conceptualised of experiencing, a discovery of a Lotus in the desert. Bua meaning "lotus" in Thai, a unique and majestic flower that the arid lands along the blowing sands. Symbolising purity and beauty, it brings serenity and peace to all that embraces its taste smell and touch.
