Dollar briefly falls vs yen on economic worries

NEW YORK - The dollar briefly turned negative against the yen on Tuesday and U.S. stocks fell as worries about the world economic outlook offset U.S. and European government plans to pump cash into troubled banks.

The dollar fell briefly to 101.85 yen as stocks pared gains before rebounding to 102.11 yen. Earlier, it traded as high as 103.06 yen, according to Reuters data.
