The Dubai-based Roda Hotels and Resorts will open the first phase of its Dh4 billion Jewel of Creek project in Dubai in the third quarter of 2019 while hiring will begin in summer this year.
Mouna Ouni, corporate director, marketing and communication, Roda Hotels and Resorts, said that during the first phase, which will see the opening of the 5-star hotel and service apartments, the company would hire more than 700 people.
Located on the Dubai Creek, the Jewel of Creek project will house 5, 4 and 3 star hotels and service apartments upon completion in 2021. In addition, the group is also developing Jewel of Jumeirah and a villa project in Garhoud.
"Currently, we have 1,500 rooms which were developed within three-and-a-half years. Another 1,500 to 2,000 rooms would be added in the next few years," Ouni said on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market.
A subsidiary of Dubai International Real Estate, Roda currently has 6 properties in Dubai and announced its seventh project during the ATM.
"Since we are an Emirati brand, we showcase the culture of the UAE and Dubai. Located strategically between old and new Dubai on the Creek, the 5-star hotel in Jewel of the Creek offers an Emirati look and feel as well as a modern touch, bringing closer Old and New Dubai."
Roda Hotels and Resorts will keep its focus on the emirate's hospitality for the time being, she said, adding that "we are looking forward to be part of Dubai's growth because the emirate is now one of the most sought-after destinations in the world."
