Dubizzle helps save 50% cost on furniture shopping

Dubai - Many residents, who opted for an unfurnished flat, fully expect to rack up massive bills when purchasing their essential home items.

Moving into a new apartment can be a daunting experience, especially when the time comes for you to dig into your wallet for furniture shopping.
Many residents, who opted for an unfurnished flat, fully expect to rack up massive bills when purchasing their essential home items. However, it is possible for residents to save up to 50 per cent of their original allocated funds by choosing to acquire several of their appliances and furniture items as pre-owned units, rather than brand new from a store or showroom.
One of the easiest ways to save on buying essentials is by visiting the sales section on sites such as dubizzle. According to the classifieds platform, essential items when furnishing a studio flat on average include a two-seater couch, dining table with two chairs, flat screen 40-inch TV, queen size bed, side table, TV table, PlayStaion 4, coffee table, small rug, curtains, microwave, small fridge, bean bag, popcorn maker, remote control holder, trash bin, coffee maker, long mirror, a kettle, and a cooking range.
By calculating the average costs of home essentials listed on dubizzle over the past year, the platform revealed that furnishing a studio flat through the items listed on dubizzle would save residents up to 40 per cent, as compared to purchasing similar brand-new items from well-known furniture stores such as Ikea and Home Centre.
Similarly, parents furnishing a baby room would need to purchase a crib, baby monitor, ceiling toys, stuffed animal toys, changing table, stroller, and baby walker. Dubizzle has revealed that the parents can save up to 42 per cent by purchasing these items on its portal. The average price of items bought on dubizzle over the past year is Dh5,930, while the original price of similar items equates to roughly Dh10,000.

When taking a look at the top searched words in relation to furniture, 'Ikea' ranks first, with an average of 7,475 searches per month, followed by 'Sofa Bed' and 'Leather Furniture' at 6,231 and 4,843 average monthly searches respectively. The top searched appliances are fridges, washing machines, and microwaves respectively. In relation to entertainment items for the home, the top TV brands searched were identified as 'Samsung', followed by 'LG' and 'Sony' respectively.
