The meeting came as divisions grow in Europe over the proposed tariffs
Emicool will deliver 15,340 tonnes of refrigeration (TR) chilled water from its plant at Hessah Street to the Akoya site through pipes, valve chambers and heat exchanger stations.
The new contract, which will cater to more than 2,500 customers once the project is complete, is set to increase Emicool's productive capacity by five per cent, escalating the refrigerating tonnes per hour (RTH) production to 440 Million RTH by the end of 2017.
Apart from providing chilled water, Emicool will also supply the British Thermal Unit metres to the Akoya buildings to measure the energy usage and carry out billing services once the buildings are occupied.
Adib Moubadder, CEO of Emicool, said: "The demand for district cooling across the UAE continues to rise amid burgeoning construction. The benefits of district cooling are evident and master planners are incorporating district cooling systems in their projects. Emicool is consistently augmenting its capacity. The company is privileged to be associated with the Damac development, which is a major step forward in its strategic expansion."
