Enabling works under way at Saadiyat residential district
Phase 1 of the Saadiyat Lagoons District includes 820 townhouses set in a gated community.
The contract was awarded to Western Bainoona Group for General Contracting and covers ground improvements, in addition to site clearance. It is progressing as per schedule to be delivered by the end of this year.
Sufian Hasan Al Marzooqi, CEOat Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC), said: "We launched this project in April this year and works are on track in preparation for the main construction. The contractor has mobilised on site for enabling works. We expect to announce the main construction works contract before the end of this year."
Phase 1 of the Saadiyat Lagoons District includes 820 townhouses set in a gated community. The townhouses will comprise two- to four-bedroom units.
Homeowners will have access to community facilities such as pools and children's playgrounds, including a convenience store, and access to a neighbourhood lagoon.
The project has been designed to encourage active lifestyles, with walking and cycling paths and horse-riding trails. The district will also include two lifestyle and retail destinations: a town centre, a central lagoon and a linear park.
