Keeping its promise of “Your Future Starts Here,” etisalat demonstrated and launched trend-setting services and solutions, signed strategic partnerships and introduced best deals, prices and bundle offers during GITEX.

Etisalat announced the launch of the region’s highest downlink speeds of up to 42.2MBps on its next-generation HSPA+ mobile network in the last quarter of 2010. Etisalat also demonstrated the Long Term Evolution (LTE) 4G technology, designed to increase the capacity and speed of mobile networks to provide customers with downlink speed of 150Mbps and 50Mbps uplink speed.

To showcase the LTE 4G network capabilities, etisalat hosted the Middle East’s first display of the LTE Connected Car during GITEX. The LTE connected car is an example of how this technology is supporting a new class of vehicle-centric, travel-centric, and entertainment-centric applications and services to transform the end-user experience.

GITEX 2010 witnessed the launch of BlackBerry’s Torch 9800 and Curve 9300 smartphones in the UAE, where several promotions for the handsets were also offered.

Business visitors to the exhibition had the opportunity to explore and experience contemporary technologies like cloud computing, public telepresence, Machine to Machine, or M2M, communications and Managed Voice application.
