The UAE-based retail major Fathima Group opened its second hypermarket in Al Ain as part of its wider growth plans in the GCC retail scene. Shaikh Mussallam Salem bin Ham Al Ameri, Member of National Consultative Council, inaugurated the outlet in the presence of Fathima Group Chairman E P Moosa Haji, Managing Director E P Sulaiman Haji, and senior dignitaries.
The Group, with diversified businesses predominantly a chain of hypermarkets, supermarkets and department stores, is currently on an expansion mode. With the opening of the newest outlet, the Group reinforces itself firmly to the modern, customer-centric retail landscape of the region.
Fathima Group also plans to roll out seven new hypermarkets in the next few months looking for a wider market segment in the GCC and India. The new outlets will come up in Bur Dubai, Dubai Waterfront, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE; Jeddah Haramain and Al Safa in Saudi Arabia; and Sobha City, Thrissur in India. These outlets would focus on grocery, fresh fruit and vegetables, electronics, household appliances, fashion garments, luggage and other daily need products with a product range tailored to the large multinational population in these regions.
The new hypermarket in Al Ain is located off Mohammed bin Khalifa Street near Al Noor Modern Bakery in Al Qattara, and will serve residents in the vicinity and the surrounding areas as one-stop destination for all shopping needs. The hypermarket, laid out with the best facilities for the convenience of customers and product variety in mind, offers a range of world-class products and brands at reasonable prices. The hypermarket is spread in three levels and combines everything from foodstuff including fresh fruits and vegetables, bakery to household and electronics, gadgets, health and beauty products, fashion garments, footwear and accessories, among other things.

The new hypermarket in Al Ain boasts of three packed floors catering to different shopping needs. The basement floor showcases household items, home appliances, electronics, mobile phones, IT products and a fresh flowers counter. The ground floor houses foodstuff and separate sections for fresh fruits and vegetables, meat and poultry, fish, dairy products, spices, ready-to-eat products, bakery and roastery. The first floor of the premise features high-fashion garments, ladies' accessories, toys, stationery, watches, jewellery, and a photo studio.
