This followed a tripartite agreement signed earlier to provide depot engine repair, maintenance and overhaul capability in the United Arab Emirates for UAEAF & AD military F110-GE-132-power engines to equip F-16 aircraft.

The UAEAF & AD vision is to supplement existing aircraft maintenance infrastructure and skilled workforce at Gamco with new equipment, tools and training to provide capability for local repair of GEAE military engines operated by the UAEAF & AD.

Previously, this depot repair and support required shipment to depot facilities in Europe or the United States of America.

This additional equipment and tooling will support local depot repair of the F110-GE-132 engine. The power plant is under development for the new F-16 aircraft purchased by the UAEAF & AD.

Strategically, this milestone will enhance long-term depot repair capability in the country, and the readiness of the UAE through reduced repair time, and lower engine life cycle cost. The addition of high technology equipment and capability positions Gamco to compete for similar engine depot work including civilian aviation and industrial business from other countries within the GCC region and beyond.
