DUBAI - CMA, the German Agricultural Marketing Board, will be holding its Annual German Food Exhibition at the JW Marriott Hotel in Dubai on February 22 and 23.
The food exhibition, which is open exclusively to trade visitors, will host over 25 top German food suppliers ranging from fresh foods and frozen foods to the meats and cheeses Germany is famous for. "The Middle East is a vital market for the German Agricultural Industry especially since it covers over 9.5 per cent of the export outside the EC (European Community). In 1998, the UAE imported 57,373 million euro worth of Quality Food Supplies for export. The last few years has seen this figure almost double, which reflects the importance of the Middle East market and the retail food business," commented Petros Michelidakis, CMA Director for Greece & Middle East.
In addition to exhibiting top German food products to the trade, the exhibitors will be actively searching for premium importers and distributors in the Gulf Region.
Today Germany is one of the world's major producers of meat and dairy products and with its high level of self-sufficiency it is an exporter of food products (one of the EU's largest) all over the world. German Food is highly regarded because of its consistent top quality. This is achieved through ecologically sound and responsible farming and production methods, high quality manufacturing standards, innovative ideas, together with attractive packaging, which all combine to produce the unique taste of Germany.
The CMA is a strong provider of services and supports the trading partners by means of various different marketing activities such as meat forums, trade contact events at which foreign importers can assume direct contact with German exporters; Participation in the national and international trade fairs; Direct queries - the publication and mediation of the queries of Foreign importers to German exporters; German weeks - upon request special sales promotion events are implemented.
