Though Dubai is one of the leading leisure and shopping destinations offering numerous malls and leisure spots, Global Village stands out among others with its uniqueness, where shoppers experience the culture and colour of products itself.
Dubai's leading family and cultural entertainment destination has received the highest level of appreciation among a majority of its visitors for its remarkable arrangement of pavilions and overall funfair finery.
Global Village is one of Dubai's major seasonal events with a large number of families from the UAE, other GCC countries and further abroad visiting over its five-month season.
The 19th edition ended with a total of five million guests, who visited between November 6, 2014 and April 11, 2015.
Rafiuddin Shaikh, a frequent visitor of Global Village since its inception in the cradle of a kiosk-form theme park in 1996, said that every year he has been witnessing new additions and improvements in services.
"From parking and ticket buying experience to the food, entertainment and shopping, everything is continuously improving with the passage of time," he said.
Global Village's 19th edition added more vibrancy to the event with the colourful and international selection of handmade goods, artifacts and tasty goodies from 150 kiosks and 3,500 shopping outlets. The number of pavilions reached 31 with more than 70 countries representing every continent as the event's cultural reach and diversity excelled.
"The timing of the event is perfect - November through April - as Dubai witnesses the pleasant weather and outdoor activities at Global Village are really an unforgettable fun," said Zainab Das, an executive at a Dubai-based private firm.
In addition to bringing new revolutionising ideas on board, the management of Global Village believes in the importance of the traditional voice of customers for business enhancement.
Ahmed Hussain, chief operating officer of Global Village, told Khaleej Times that he is keen on recording the responses of guests and shoppers to further improve the quality of services and live up to the expectations of visitors.
"We had conducted a survey for our visitors to gauge their feedback and response to all our new initiatives this season. The idea behind conducting this survey was to ensure that we meet and exceed the expectations of our guests," Hussain said.
"We are pleased with the results of the customer satisfaction survey and feel rewarded with their feedback," he said.
"Global Village is constantly working towards ensuring the highest standards in terms of a qualitative experience for our guests. The survey further strengthens our commitment to provide a unique and memorable experience that celebrates diverse cultures and delivers world-class entertainment," Hussain said.
With the 20th edition beginning on November 3, 2015 and ending on April 9, 2016, Global Village is set to pave the way for one of its biggest seasons ever. It promises offerings that have never been seen before.
"We have many new offerings planned for the next season, which we will announce through this year. However, one thing we can promise is that the 20th season will be an unforgettable experience for all our guests," Hussain said.
