Numbers are growing for Huawei either its sales or market share since the beginning of 2016, according to a top official of the Chinese smartphone maker. "This year we expect good growth. We can achieve the target sets and more market share," David Wang, country manager of Huawei Consumer Business Group in the UAE. Wang declined to give actual numbers for sales or growth. Until now this year has been very fruitful for the company, he added.
Talking about the competition he replied: "Yes, there is competition but we believe in our own products and we are also confident of our own flagship models." Talking about the company strategy the country manager mentioned that it's all about quality and not quantity. He informed the company used to have 75 different products in 2011 and now only 20. But the market share is increasing, he added. In the first half of 2016, Huawei has achieved 60.56 million shipments of products. Huawei Consumer Business Group shipped over 100 million smartphones worldwide in 2015, cementing its position as one of the top three consumer device companies in the world.
The global shipments of Huawei smartphones have increased from 3 million in 2010 to 100 million in 2015, a testament to the soaring popularity of the brand among smartphone users who are on the lookout for innovation, design and quality. With the launch of a series of customer care service initiatives, Huawei aims to take after sales service to a new level. Last year, the company introduced its service centre in Dubai.
Huawei now offers personalised services to customers including a hotline number for complimentary pick-up and drop-off of devices and a 48-hour repair turnaround time for select devices under warranty. "Now we have more than 100 collections points and door to door service for hardware and software problems, " David Wang informed.
Huawei assures quick repairs for P9, P9 Plus and Mate 8, Honor 8 devices under warranty. In addition to efficient service, Huawei also offers engraving services that will allow customers to further personalise devices with unique designs and artistic engravings of their choice.
"Worldwide excellence in service experience today constitutes a major factor for customers, and the UAE leads the way. We believe this can become a key brand differentiator, and that in times to come, customers will demand nothing but the very best - both in terms of quality of device and post-sales service levels. Our intention is to raise the industry bar and remain ahead of our competition by addressing this key need," Wang explained.
