Black, grey, silver, white, rose gold - even red; those are the colour variants that we've become so used to with iPhones. So if you're looking for hues that are more striking, you may be in for a treat.
Apple insider Ming-Chi Kuo, as reported by 9to5mac, released a report that a rather wide variety of colour options is coming to the next iPhones in September.
As widely reported, three iPhones are expected in about two months' time: a 5.8-inch version similar to the present iPhone X with token upgrades; an entry-level, slim-bezel 6.1-inch LCD iPhone; and a 6.5-inch 'iPhone X Plus' with an OLED display.
Kuo says that the largest of the lot will be offered in black, white and new gold schemes. The 6.1-incher, meanwhile, will come in "grey, white, blue, red and orange", a nod to its positioning to be a 'style' phone. It is believed to be priced at only $700 (Dh2,570). It was unclear if the red option is the limited-edition Product(RED) line.
Apple has, much like its design of the iPhone, stuck to its traditional hues. The apparent shift in colours would put it in the mix with other manufacturers, who have mixed-and-matched colours to appeal to consumers. HTC even brought out a 'Translucent Blue' variant of its newest flagship, the U12+, which gives a peek of some of the device's innards on the rear.
Kuo also upped his forecast for year-on-year iPhone sales, seeing a 'significant' growth of up to 70 million new models to be sold in the fourth quarter of 2018.
