If you're desperate to get your hands on the iPhone X and couldn't wait any longer for the next fresh batch of stocks to come, we have two bits of news for you.
Good news: the most advanced and most expensive Apple flagship to date is readily available in this part of the world. Bad news: prepare to shell out at least Dh500 more for it.
Apple is making a killing with iPhone X
Various stores in Dubai are selling the iPhone X at prices higher than its actual retail value - and they're eye-watering.
One of them, located in a major mall in the emirate, is selling the 64GB version for Dh4,950 - Dh851 higher than its regular Dh4,099 price.
"We got [our stocks] at a high price [already]," a sales representative said, declining to elaborate further on its supplier.
How to get a free upgrade to the iPhone X in UAE
Another store, also in a major mall in Dubai, has both the 64GB and 256GB versions available. And while they are selling the former at a cheaper Dh4,600, the latter is being retailed for a whopping Dh5,600. Those are Dh501 and Dh871 higher, respectively.
Staff at this stall claim that despite the high prices, their stocks are moving fast.
"If you really want it, you need to reserve because it's selling fast," a sales rep said, stressing that, as at 1pm on Wednesday, they said they've sold 12 iPhone X units for the day, with more enquiries entertained and potential sales coming up.
Over at online resellers, one website is selling the 64GB iPhone X for as high as Dh4,829, while the 256GB version is going for an even more eye-popping Dh5,709 - Dh730 and Dh980 more expensive than what it is the normal world. They promise delivery by Saturday, November 11.
iPhone X review: What you need to know about Apple's latest offering
To put all this into perspective, those prices flirting with the Dh6,000 mark are enough to buy two 64GB iPhone 8 units - and you'll still have a few dirhams of change.
Well, if it's any consolation, at least these guys are selling iPhone X units that have Facetime, a service still technically disallowed in the UAE.
Still, these are high prices to pay for the device, don't you think? But some things refuse to change: there are still people willing to spend more for their favourite gadget.
