Probir Mukherjee, assistant vice-president, Jumbo Electronics said: "LCD TV technology is the future and Sony is introducing its first LCD TV in the region with the launch of the new 30 inch KVL30MR1. This launch announces Sony's aggressive entry in this new category. A combination of competitive pricing, excellent picture quality and aesthetic appeal is sure to make it the most popular LCD TV in this region." With the introduction of the Sony new model, Sony revolutionises the design of LCD televisions. The LCD WEGA KLV-30MR1 is held within a thin transparent glass frame, which gives it a 'floating' look. A subtle illumination effect on the Sony logo on the product and the light indicators on its function panel further enhance the sophistication of the design. "The new Sony LCD TV is available with free delivery and installation from selected outlets and with insurance and very attractive installment packages from the Jumbo retail stores. It is a decisive move from Sony in the emerging LCD TV category and will add to our strong growth plans," added Mukherjee.
Despite the slim lines of the Sony LCD WEGA KLV-30MR1, it is packed with high-performance functions and new technologies that deliver superior audio-visual capabilities. "One common perception is that LCD televisions are more suitable for smaller rooms like bedrooms. With our new 30-inch wide-screen, we aim to give consumers an additional choice for their living rooms. With efficient power consumption, high contrast in bright conditions and a cutting-edge design with timeless appeal, we believe the LCD WEGA KLV-30MR1 makes a very good choice," said M. Tamagawa, general manager- sales at Sony Gulf FZE.
In the new model, Sony offers its LCD Panel Driver in the LCD WEGA KLV-30MR1, which offers a smoother and clearer image flow. This digital processing technology dramatically enhances fast-action or motion picture quality by improving the response time, 'afterimage' and high-resolution images. To deliver realistic acoustic surround sound for a thrilling cinematic experience at home, the Sony LCD WEGA KLV-30MR1 is also equipped with built-in speakers, with audio power totaling 20 watts, and Virtual Dolby/BBE sound processing.
The media receiver unit of the Sony LCD WEGA KLV-30MR1 incorporates a Memory Stick media slot, which allows users to view on a 30-inch wide-screen high-resolution JPEG and MPEG1 images taken using a Sony Cyber-shot digital still camera or a Sony Digital Handycam video camera.
