Kolkata will soon boast one of India's tallest residential buildings. Kolkata-based developers, Mani Group, Diamond Group and Alcove Realty, along with Bengaluru-based Sattva Group, have come together as a consortium to build The 42.
Located at 42B Chowringhee Road, The 42 will be a 60-floor residential tower and the tallest structure in eastern India. It will have a generously-sized bungalow apartment on every floor. Open on all four sides, these bungalow apartments will afford panoramic views of the Victoria Memorial, Maidan, Fort William and the Hooghly.
"Chowringhee is an integral part of the city that has served as a backdrop to its colonial origin and history. The 42 will comprise 57 bungalow apartments, including one triplex apartment," said Sanjay Jhunjhunwala, CEO of Mani Group.
The 42 will comprise a single residential tower and a separate multilevel carpark block.
The apartments will be sized from 7,780 sq ft to 7,815 sq ft. Each apartment will have its private lift foyer and range in size from four to or six bedrooms. The entire premises will be WiFi-enabled.
There will be 24/7 vigilance facility with CCTV cameras, swipe card access to entrance lobby and lifts, biometric frontdoor locks and video doorphone monitoring.
The Residents' Club will boast leisure and sporting facilities including a temperature-controlled swimming pool, a gym, yoga studio, indoor games room, changing and locker rooms.
"The 42 is targeted at those who wish to make their home a statement, those who no longer find big houses manageable such as corporate chieftains, senior professionals and NRIs," added Jhunjhunwala.
